Overview

At TechCourse Canada, we are committed to delivering high-quality software development and auto technology services that meet your expectations. This Refund Policy explains our policies regarding refunds, cancellations, and service credits for our professional services.

We understand that circumstances may change, and we strive to handle all refund requests fairly and transparently. Please read this policy carefully to understand your rights and options.

Eligibility for Refunds

Project-Based Services

For fixed-price software development projects, refunds may be available under the following circumstances:

  • Pre-Commencement Cancellation: If you cancel before project work has begun, you are entitled to a full refund of any deposits paid, less a 10% administrative fee.
  • Early Project Cancellation: If you cancel within the first 20% of the project timeline, you will be charged only for work completed to date, plus 15% of the remaining contract value.
  • Non-Conforming Deliverables: If deliverables do not substantially conform to the agreed specifications and we are unable to remedy the issues within 30 days, you may be entitled to a partial refund.

Time-and-Materials Engagements

For hourly or time-and-materials engagements:

  • Services are billed for actual time worked and are generally non-refundable
  • Unused hours from prepaid hour packages may be credited toward future work if requested within 90 days
  • Prepaid retainer balances may be refunded upon termination, less any unbilled work

Support and Maintenance Services

For ongoing support and maintenance subscriptions:

  • Annual plans may be cancelled with a pro-rated refund for unused months if cancelled within the first 90 days
  • Monthly plans may be cancelled at any time; no refund will be provided for the current billing period
  • Unused support hours do not roll over unless specified in your agreement

Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally not eligible for refunds:

  • Discovery, analysis, and planning phases once completed and delivered
  • Third-party licenses, software, or services procured on your behalf
  • Custom development work that has been accepted or deemed accepted
  • Rush fees or expedited delivery premiums
  • Training sessions that have been delivered
  • Administrative fees and processing charges

Refund Process

How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a written refund request to [email protected]
  2. Include your project name/number, invoice number, and reason for the request
  3. Provide any relevant documentation supporting your request
  4. Our billing team will acknowledge your request within 2 business days

Review and Decision

Upon receiving your refund request:

  • We will review the request and your account history within 5 business days
  • We may contact you for additional information or clarification
  • A decision will be communicated to you in writing within 10 business days
  • If approved, refunds will be processed within 14 business days

Refund Methods

Approved refunds will be issued via the original payment method when possible:

  • Credit Card: Refunded to the original card (may take 5-10 business days to appear)
  • Bank Transfer: Returned via electronic funds transfer
  • Check: A refund check will be mailed to your address on file
  • Service Credit: In some cases, we may offer service credits for future work

Cancellation Policy

Project Cancellation by Client

If you need to cancel an ongoing project:

  • Provide written notice at least 14 days in advance when possible
  • All work completed to date will be invoiced and payable
  • Any work in progress will be delivered in its current state
  • Third-party commitments made on your behalf must be honored or reimbursed

Project Cancellation by TechCourse Canada

We reserve the right to cancel a project under the following circumstances:

  • Non-payment of invoices after 45 days past due
  • Client failure to provide required information, approvals, or access
  • Discovery of illegal or unethical intended use of deliverables
  • Breach of our Terms and Conditions

If we cancel due to client default, no refund will be provided. If we cancel for other reasons, you will receive a pro-rated refund for services not yet rendered.

Dispute Resolution

If you disagree with a refund decision:

  • Submit a written appeal within 14 days of the decision
  • Appeals will be reviewed by senior management
  • A final decision will be provided within 10 business days
  • If unresolved, disputes may be escalated per our Terms and Conditions

Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our work. Our commitment includes:

  • A 90-day warranty period on all custom development work
  • Free bug fixes for issues covered under warranty
  • Good faith efforts to resolve any concerns before considering refunds
  • Open communication throughout your project

We encourage clients to raise concerns early so we can address them promptly and avoid the need for refunds or cancellations.

Exceptions

TechCourse Canada reserves the right to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis at our sole discretion. Exceptions may be considered for:

  • Long-standing clients with excellent payment history
  • Documented extenuating circumstances
  • Situations where our performance did not meet professional standards

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will not apply retroactively to existing contracts or pending refund requests. The version in effect at the time of your purchase or refund request will apply.
